The Centre for Health Education Scholarship is pleased to announce funding opportunities to support exceptional scholarly work in health professions education.
Two funding streams are currently open for applications:
1. Distributed Health Professions Education Grant – This funding opportunity supports projects that will promote further development of research in distributed health professions education (DHPE) at UBC. The Faculty of Medicine wants to extend its role as an expert in DHPE by bringing together researchers and/or practitioners to examine and disseminate our experiences and knowledge through peer reviewed publication.
2. Indigenous Health Professions Education Grant – This funding opportunity supports projects that will promote further development of research in Indigenous Health Professions Education (IHPE) at UBC. We are looking for Indigenous researchers and Indigenous allies who are interested in exploring the education experiences of Indigenous students in health professional programs during their admissions and training processes as well as those of Indigenous health professionals in practice. That is, CHES wishes to engage with interested parties to further society’s knowledge of the role of education practices on the experiences and needs of Indigenous health professional learners and/or practitioners.
Please click on the links above to view the full call for research proposals for both funding streams, including evaluation criteria, award details, and application process.
The application deadline for both funding streams is April 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM PST.
CHES is committed to supporting the development of project ideas. Any questions about the funding streams, how to apply, or anyone interested in support prior to making a submission, please email Michelle Huebert at ches.manager@ubc.ca.
