Purpose of Visit
Dr. Sukhera is excited to visit CHES to meet with all levels of educators, scientists, and educational administrators interested in the intersection between wellbeing and equity in health professions education. He is also keen to discuss a new line of inquiry described as “healing centred pedagogy,” which incorporates strategies that addresses the root causes of discrimination trauma while building on the strengths of individuals and communities. Healing centred pedagogy is anchored on collectivism, critical consciousness, radical hope, strength and resistance, and cultural authenticity and self-knowledge.
