Biography

Sruthi Saravanan is a final-year medical student at the University of Nottingham-Lincoln Medical School with a keen interest in health professional education scholarship and management, as well as in clinical neurology.

Her current roles include Co-Editor-in-Chief of the British Student Doctor Journal (BSDJ), an official publication of the Academy of Medical Educators; Honorary Lecturer at the Cardiff University School of Medicine; Student Content Advisory Board Member at Elsevier; Student Representative on the International Editorial Advisory Board of the journal, Medical Education and Student Co-Chair of the International Association for Health Professions Education (AMEE) Student Engagement Special Interest Group.

Sruthi has been shortlisted for the Specialised Foundation Doctor Program at Nottingham University Hospital Trust in Academic Research, affiliated with the renowned Institute of Mental Health. She aims to pursue research in neuropsychiatry while developing her health professional education scholarship.

During her free time, she enjoys travelling, playing sports, and attending music festivals.

Purpose of Visit

During her medical school elective at CHES, Sruthi will undertake a research study in collaboration with scholars from CHES and health professional education institutions in the UK. The focus of this research will be to explore how technology-enhanced learning programs can optimize the sequencing of cases to facilitate effective knowledge transfer. Throughout this elective, she wishes to develop meaningful connections with members at CHES and deepen her understanding of a career in health professional education scholarship.
