Purpose of Visit

During his visit to CHES, Dr. Renaud will be meeting with its members to discuss assessment and evaluation, to learn more about their research, and to collect feedback on some ideas for his research program.

Biography

Dr. Jean-Sébastien Renaud holds a PhD and a master’s degree in Measurement and Evaluation from Laval University. He also has a bachelor’s degree in Consumer Sciences and a Certificate in Administration from the same institution.

Since 2012, Dr. Renaud has worked at the Faculty of Medicine at Laval University as the Director of the Assessment division of the Office of Education and Continuing Professional Development. Now on sabbatical leave, he will return as the director of the health sciences education programs. He teaches the graduate course “Assessment in Health Sciences Education” and gives workshops on assessment development and validation. Dr. Renaud is also the Canadian Editor for the French international journal Mesure et évaluation en education, which publishes on assessment and evaluation in education.

Dr. Renaud is interested in the development and validation of assessment tools in health sciences education. He has published on selection (MMI) and on assessment of learning.
