Purpose of Visit

During her sabbatical at CHES, Jasbir hopes to meet with a variety of members of the CHES community to explore the intersection of spirituality and medicine through a lens of palliative care and education scholarship.

Biography

Dr. Jaswal received her medical degree from the University of British Columbia and then went on to complete her residency in Radiation Oncology at Western University in London, Ontario. She has always been passionate about medical education and during residency, she took on a Master of Science in Medical Education Leadership from the University of New England. The work done during her masters led to the development of an anatomy and radiology contouring course for radiation oncology residents. After residency, Dr. Jaswal completed a fellowship in prostate and gynecologic brachytherapy in Kelowna. She is currently working at BC Cancer – Surrey treating malignancies of the head and neck and gynecological tract. She remains passionate about teaching and is involved in the radiation oncology residency program. She is also interested in quality improvement as it pertains to patient care and a patients experience of their illness.
