Purpose of Visit

Lawrence visits CHES with the goals of developing a refined understanding of the approaches we use to appraise aspiring physicians during admissions processes and medical learners during education assessments and learning about related research approaches. He also looks forward to engaging with faculty and students across the community, to share scholarly perspectives and to hear about the wide breadth of work being conducted at CHES. Lawrence, of course, is also open to developing new lines of inquiry.

Biography

Lawrence is an education scientist who leads active research programs concerned with understanding the relationship between education policies and the practice of comprehensive community-adaptive family medicine, the acquisition of expertise in clinical technical skill, and ethical approaches to inter-institutional data-driven medical education research. He also directs a graduate-degree program in health professions education, which aims to support clinical educators in the development of mastery in clinical teaching and learning, academic leadership, and education scholarship.
