Purpose of Visit
Biography
Milena Forte is an urban trained family physician with the heart of a country doctor. She practices at Mount Sinai hospital in Toronto where she provides full scope of care including obstetrics. Her academic interests merge two of her passions- maternal newborn care and medical education. She has leadership roles in maternity care at both the University of Toronto and the College of Family Physicians of Canada. She has been actively involved in health professions research and scholarship for the last decade. She is the education scholarship lead for postgraduate education at the DFCM, U of T. She has authored both clinical and education research papers. She is happily raising 2 teenagers and 3 chickens.
Interests
In her education scholarship, Milena is a generalist by choice so her interests are wide and varied. However, she is currently writing and thinking about the following areas:
- Rater cognition in assessment
- How the pandemic has impacted social identity in health professions education
- The ways in which learners and providers build trust in both physical and virtual spaces
