Purpose of Visit

During this visit, Dr. Chan will be meeting with individual members of the CHES community to discuss their research ideas, ask for advice regarding her research ideas, and explore areas of joint interest.

Biography

Dr. Chan completed a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of British Columbia, and Pharmacy Practice Residency from Vancouver Coastal Health-Providence Health Care. Dr. Chan began her role in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences as a part of the practice skills laboratory group. In her role, she has a focus on expanding institutional practice skills and clinical and physical assessment. Dr. Chan’s current educational and research interests include innovative technology to complement traditional approaches to teaching. She has been involved in projects which include using simulation stethoscopes with standardized patients and virtual patient cases for case-based learning. Her other area of interest is in programs that foster pharmacy students’ roles as future educators, such as the UBC Academic Teaching Rotation and the PHASE (Pharmacy Students as Educators) Program.
