Dr. van Schaik will use her time at CHES to work on her writing, focusing particularly on two upcoming papers that centre on interprofessional feedback.
Biography
Dr. Sandrijn van Schaik is Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at UCSF with a clinical appointment in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, where she directs the fellowship program. She is the Education Director for the UCSF Kanbar Center for Simulation, Clinical Skills and Telemedicine Education, which serves 5 health professional schools on one campus. Dr. van Schaik oversees curriculum development, scholarship and faculty development in simulation for the campus.
Her major research focus is on interprofessional teamwork and communication. She currently has a Faculty Scholarship from the Josiah Macy Jr Foundation to study interprofessional feedback with as goal to develop guidelines aimed to improve interprofessional practice. Her research studies are examining the factors that influence responses to interprofessional feedback through the lens of the social identity framework.
