Bizath S. Taqui, MD, FACP, FRCPC

Biography

After graduating with a combined BA/MD program from UMDNJ New Brunswick/Rutgers Medical School, Dr. Taqui completed her internal medicine residency and GIM Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh in 2002. She joined the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in 2002, achieving the rank of Clinical Professor in 2018. At Temple, Dr. Taqui served as an Assistant Clerkship Director, Core Faculty, and more recently, as an Associate Program Director, and Director of Curriculum and Inpatient Education for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. In this role, she worked with a team to implement innovations in Clinical Decision Making, Patient Safety and QI, as well as Social Determinants of Health.

Area of Focus

Dr. Taqui’s main area of academic interest is Clinical Decision Making. She has worked with the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine as part of their Educational Collaborative with the Macy Foundation to improve education in Clinical Reasoning. Dr. Taqui has presented their innovative Clinical Reasoning Academic Half Day or Internal Medicine Residents to the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine and AAIM.

Purpose of Visit

During her visit, Dr. Taqui will connect with members of the CHES community to engage in scholarly conversations about Clinical Decision Making and Medical Education scholarship.
