Biography
Xuanxuan is a student pursuing her PhD in a health professional education program at Peking University. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine in 2019 and a Master of Public Health in 2022. Since 2019, she has been actively engaged in medical education research. Her earlier work focused on quantitative studies exploring medical students’ professional identity and career choice. Currently, she is conducting a mixed-methods cluster randomized controlled trial aimed at improving key outcomes—such as career commitment, medical student retention, well-being, academic satisfaction, and reducing career regret—through interventions that enhance professional and organizational socialization. Her research interests include medical student choice and development; equity, diversity and inclusion; professional identity formation. She has passion for enhancing academic research skills and gaining valuable experience in medical education. She hopes to contribute as a member of the medical education scholarship and work with them to improve population health by advancing educational practices.
Purpose of Visit
During her visit, Xuanxuan hopes to learn more about the daily running and mission of CHES to understand how medical education research centers of excellence run. She also hopes to expand her research network and learn from others research studies. More specifically, she hopes to gain more knowledge on perspectives.
