Biography
Dr. Hongbin Wu is an Pre-tenure Associate Professor at the National Centre for Health Profession Education Development (NCHPED) and the Institute of Medical Education, Peking University. He is a member of the leadership team at NCHPED and leads the research team WISDOM. He earned his Ph.D. in Educational Economics and Management from Peking University. In 2019, he co-founded the discipline of Health Professions Education at Peking University, establishing both master’s and doctoral programs in the field. His research interests focus on exploring the choices, transitions, development, and influencing factors of the process from medical students to physicians, drawing on multidisciplinary perspectives from economics, sociology, education, and learning sciences. As the Secretary-General of the Association for Health Professions Education Research in China, he is committed to promoting health professions education research as a scientific field of study in China. His academic publications are in both Chinese and English.
Purpose of Visit
The purpose of Dr. Wu’s visit is to enhance research capabilities in health professions education, engage with Ph.D. student Xuanxuan’s studies at CHES, and explore potential collaborations with his research team. Additionally, he aims to advance cooperation between NCHPED and CHES, particularly in the areas of discipline building and journal development.
