Biography
Dr. Csilla Kalocsai (she/her) holds the inaugural ACMS Professorship in Education Research at Sunnybrook Research Institute and serves as a Status-Only Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. She is also a Cross-Appointed Graduate Faculty in Anthropology at the University. Her research program examines issues of power and equity in the context of change in health professions education and care. This includes exploring service user involvement in mental health professions education, harm reduction training in emergency departments, and anti-racism education in academic hospitals. Dr. Kalocsai earned an MPhil in Gender and Culture from the Open University, UK, and a PhD in Anthropology from Yale University, US.
Purpose of Visit
As a visiting scholar, Dr. Kalocsai is eager to connect with members of CHES to gain insights into their groundbreaking work in areas such as equity, social justice, service user involvement, and theories of change and pragmatism. She is also interested in identifying potential areas of mutual interest and learning more about the approaches CHES scientists and scholars take to faculty development and mentorship in health professions education scholarship.
