Physician, Monash Health,
Melbourne, Australia
Dates of Visit: June 2 – August 26, 2025
Biography
Christina is Head of Medical Education, Monash Doctors Education (MDE) at Monash Health, a large metropolitan hospital in Melbourne, Australia. She continues to enjoy working as a Physician in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
MDE’s primary role is optimising the wellbeing and training of doctors in their first two years of work, as they rotate between various specialties to gain broad experience, before starting specialty training. The Australian Medical Council introduced programmatic assessment with EPAs for these junior doctors in 2024, so we have been on a steep learning curve! Christina’s PhD focused on developing the Feedback Quality Instrument, a practical guide to assist educators in collaborating with learners to engage, motivate and enable them to improve. Christina’s research interests include feedback discussions, psychological safety, programmatic assessment with EPAs, wellbeing and learning support, supporting international medical graduates, particularly with communication skills, and professional development training. Christina has affiliations with Monash University and the University of Melbourne.
