Purpose of Visit
While visiting CHES over the course of three separate visits, Dr. Su will be meeting with faculty to learn from UBC’s significant experience in undergraduate medical program development and assessment. He intends to form collaborative links with members of the CHES community and other medical educators involved in the empirical evaluation of medical curricula and student performance. Dr. Su is also also interested in further exploring some of these paradigms in a cross-cultural construct.
Biography
Dr. William Su works as a family physician and an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Taipei Medical University, Taiwan. After receiving a BSc from McGill University and a medical degree from Flinders University of South Australia, he obtained a PHD in Public Health from Taipei Medical University. Dr. Su currently works as the community medicine block coordinator for first-year postgraduate medical students at Taipei Medical University Hospital.
Dr. Su’s previous research mainly focused on the epidemiology of chronic viral hepatitis. He is interested in developing undergraduate medical curricula and assessment methods using performance-based examinations.
