Dr. Sherbino will be meeting with individual members of the CHES community to discuss their research ideas and offer advice. He will also be exploring areas of joint academic interest, in particular related to the CanMEDS Health Advocate Role and Education Scholarship in Emergency Medicine.

Biography

Dr. Jonathan Sherbino is an emergency physician, trauma team leader, associate professor, and Director of Continuing Professional Development in the Division of Emergency Medicine at McMaster University. He works extensively with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada where he serves as a Clinician Educator, he co-chairs the Annual International Conference on Residency Education, he co-hosts the KeyLIME (Key Literature in Medical Education) podcast series, and he is co-editor of the CanMEDS 2015 initiative. He is also a national speaker for the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians on the topic of bedside teaching, and has led the CAEP Working Group on Education Scholarship. An adjunct scientist with Program for Education Research and Development, McMaster University, his education research focuses on clinical decision making, but also includes the design of curriculum and assessment instruments.
