Biography
Paula Riganti is a Family Doctor and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University Hospital Italiano of Buenos Aires (UHIBA), Argentina. With formal training in medical education from Cardiff University, she has combined clinical work, teaching, and curriculum development across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Her scholarly interest includes interprofessional education (IPE) and patient involvement in health professions education. She works in a continuing professional development program for family doctors, leads evidence-based medicine courses in undergraduate and she is recently launching a Community Mentors Program inspired by UBC’s Health Mentors Program. Paula also mentors students in UHIBA’s Master’s in Health Professions Education program.
Purpose of Visit
Paula expects to learn and exchange IPE implementation and patient partnership strategies and experiences. Paula also expects to foster academic collaborations between UHIBA and UBC scholars, and get some insight on how to advance IPE and patient involvement in her educational context.
Paula is the recipient of the Glenn Regehr Global Networking & Visitor Fund.
