Purpose of Visit

During this visit to CHES, Kathy O’Flynn-Magee will be meeting with CHES members to explore her interest in nursing students’ experience of bullying. Kathy hopes to use her findings to make recommendations to the UBC School of Nursing.

Biography

Kathy O’Flynn-Magee has been a faculty member at the University of British Columbia (UBC) School of Nursing since 2002 and a senior Instructor since 2013. Having taught in both the undergraduate and graduate programs throughout her time at UBC, Kathy loves working with students across a range of contexts. Most recently she took on the role of Associate Director, Undergraduate Program for two years prior to starting her sabbatical leave in July, 2015. During her leave, Kathy is interested in examining processes related to nursing students’ requests to miss clinical time as well as exploring nursing students’ experiences with bullying.
