Biography
Dr. Neera Jain is a qualitative researcher and educator interested in advancing justice in medical education. Through her work, Dr. Jain unveils the mechanisms and effects of ableism that often go unnoticed and reaches for transformational futures where disabled people thrive in education and practice. She completed her PhD at Waipapa Taumata Rau/The University of Auckland in 2021 and a postdoctoral fellowship at CHES in 2022. She is currently Senior Lecturer at Waipapa Taumata Rau teaching in Clinical Education. Her current research program seeks to advance understanding and practice related to disabled medical learners in Aotearoa/New Zealand.
Purpose of Visit
During her visit to CHES, Dr. Jain will be meeting with individual members of the CHES community to discuss their research ideas, offer advice, and explore areas of joint interest. Dr. Jain will also be presenting at the CHES Cutting Edge Speaker Series on September 9.
