Biography

Nancy McNaughton is a Health Professional educator with over thirty years’ experience in the field of simulation based education primarily working with Simulated Participants. Her research and educational endeavors explore learning as an embodied cultural, social and political undertaking that shapes and is shaped by emotion and affect. As a critical scholar Nancy is interested in how health professional educators involve people with lived experience in education. She has collaborated on research with different communities on creating equitable opportunities for their involvement.

Currently, Nancy is working with a number of police services in developing and delivering curriculum focused on approaches to people experiencing mental health crisis and has been creating collaborative opportunities for police to work with community crisis service workers in this area

Purpose of Visit

Nancy is interested in engaging with faculty and students across the community, to share scholarly perspectives and to hear about the wide breadth of work being conducted at CHES. She is especially interested in discussing research ideas, and exploring areas of joint interest.
