Biography

Stefanie is an educationalist by training who worked as a teacher and school textbook editor before specializing in medical education research. She completed her dissertation at the Charité Berlin in Medical Education and obtained her Master of Medical Education, as well as her habilitation at the Medical Faculty of the University of Bern. Her research focus is on diagnostic quality. Here she deals with decision-making processes and the collaboration of ad-hoc teams in emergency settings. Her research group is currently working on the question of whether and what influence diagnostic AI tools have on the diagnostic process. She is also working on the question of how diagnostic decisions and team performance influence each other and which and what consequences this has for postgraduate training.

Purpose of Visit

During her visit at CHES, Stefanie is looking forward to having the opportunity to talk to CHES staff about common topics such as teamwork, decision-making or professional identity. She hopes to expand her network through new contacts in this field and to discuss and explore ideas presented on common content where possible.
