Genie Kwon

Dr. Genie Kwon is a general pediatrician based in Vancouver. She is originally from Edmonton, Alberta, where she completed undergraduate studies and medical school at the University of Alberta. She moved to Vancouver to complete her pediatrics residency at the University of British Columbia. She currently works as a locum pediatrician in the community and BC Children’s Hospital.

As an immigrant from South Korea, she is passionate about health equity for new Canadians, especially those for whom English is a second language. She is an advocate for language accessibility and hopes to work on improving and expanding collaboration with translators within medical education.

Outside of clinical work, she is a lover of music and theatre, camping, wine, and dogs (with a new rescue from Korea on the way!)
