Purpose of Visit

During this visit to CHES, Pía will be learning about CEF program and meeting with educators, researchers and residents within the CHES community. She is also interested in learning about the Residents´ Wellness Office and to meet people doing research on Mindfulness.

Biography

Dr. Pía Nitsche graduated from medical school at Pontificia Universidad Católica in Chile. She is currently a first year psychiatry resident. Pía is in the process of completing her Master’s of Medical Education with her thesis concentrating on the development and evaluation of a mindfulness course for residents. She expects to
defend her thesis in May, 2017.

Pía has a strong interest in Medical Education with a focus on the role of the institutional environment and the role of mindfulness in interns’, residents’ and doctors’ wellbeing for a sustainable medical practice.

She is also interested in supporting the development of a Clinical Educator Fellowship at Pontificia Universidad Católica.
