Abstract

What is workplace culture? What makes an inclusive workplace? What fosters diversity in the workplace? In this WITA, we will examine these questions, using a reflective space. A reflective space enables questions to be asked and reflected on by the group in an effort to explore meaning and seek clarity. We will set some ground rules, and then explore case studies of workplace culture from a non-medical setting. From this dialogue, we will explore our current workplace cultures and how we might leverage individuals, relationships, structures and resources to promote inclusivity and diversity in our workplaces.

Objectives

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe a reflective space
  2. Characterize examples of workplace culture
  3. Describe ideas for leveraging individuals, relationships, structures and resources to promote workplace inclusivity and diversity
