CHES is Moving!

As announced in the CHES Quarterly in October, CHES is moving from its current space in Jim Pattison Pavilion North (JPPN) at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) to the University of British Columbia (UBC) Point Grey campus. Our main office will be relocated to the following address effective December 17, 2015. Please direct all future deliveries, mail and general inquiries to this location:

UBC Point Grey Campus — P.A. Woodward Instructional Resources Centre (IRC)

Centre for Health Education Scholarship
Faculty of Medicine
University of British Columbia
429 – 2194 Health Sciences Mall
Vancouver, BC, V6T1Z3

Tel: 604 822-8970

CHES’ new campus location will provide a welcome opportunity to foster and strengthen networks across the health professions based at Point Grey. Connection to the regional sites will be unaffected by the move. CHES Research Rounds and Academic Half Days will continue to be hosted from VGH.

In order to remain connected to the local clinical environment and community, CHES will maintain three rooms in JPPN: 3504, 3505 and 3506. We will gain access to this space on December 24, 2015. Most of the faculty, staff and trainees closely tied to our two educational programs will be based from this location, with frequent visits to the IRC site. CHES will claim alternative space in the VGH corridor once Vancouver Coastal Health reclaims the third floor of JPPN to expand their critical care and operating room facilities (start-date targeted for late 2016).

Please note in order to facilitate these two office moves, the current CHES office in JPPN 3300 will be closed on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, December 15
  • Wednesday, December 16
  • Tuesday, December 22
  • Wednesday, December 23

Phone numbers and addresses listed within the UBC Directory and CHES website will be updated in correlation with the two moves.

Questions may be directed to ches.communications@ubc.ca.

We look forward to engaging with you in our new locations!
