Biography

Gabriella joined the University of British Columbia Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UBC Pharm Sci) in December 2018. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, Master of Health Administration, and the Scholarship of Educational Leadership (SoEL) Certificate on Curriculum and Pedagogy in Higher Education, from UBC. Her clinical practice experience is in community and long-term care pharmacy which was complemented by leadership roles in pharmacy management and business ownership. Gabriella is currently a Lecturer and Course Coordinator in UBC’s Entry-to-Practice and Flexible Doctor of Pharmacy programs, serving as the Student Support and Engagement Lead in the UBC Pharm Sci Office of Experiential Education. Her areas of interest include workplace-based learning, faculty development, and professional identity formation. Her current scholarly research focuses on understanding and enhancing motivation in experiential learning and exploring the role of identity formation to support students in a novel remediation program. Outside her roles at UBC, Gabriella serves as Vice-President  and Board Director on the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada

Purpose of Visit

The purpose of this visit to CHES will be for Gabriella to meet with individual members of the CHES community to refine her research ideas, seek advice on research methodology and training, and explore areas of joint interest in experiential teaching and learning.
