Purpose of Visit
During his visit to CHES, Dr. Arthur would like to meet with educators and researchers within the CHES community to explore and discuss strategies that support student academic resilience and success.
Biography
From 2005 – 2015 Dr. Peter Arthur was the Founding Director of UBC Okanagan’s Centre for Teaching and Learning where he provided leadership and strategic direction with a particular focus on building an evidence-based teaching and learning culture.
More recently Dr. Arthur has been working on curricular interventions and strategies faculty may incorporate into their learning environments to support student academic resiliency and success. As part of his Senior Scholarly Teaching Fellowship from BCcampus he is investigating the following strategies: mindset (growth, failure and learning), metacognition, grit, and positive psychology.
