CHES is pleased to have finalized the appointments for two new Associate Director positions, effective July 1, 2015:

Associate Director, Cross Professions InitiativesDr. Deb Butler.
The focus of this position will be to lead the planning of initiatives that might achieve the goal of fostering a culture of collaboration across professions to advance research and scholarship in health professions education.

Associate Director, Innovation and ScholarshipDr. Marion Pearson.
The focus of this position will be to lead the planning of initiatives that might achieve the goal of fostering a culture of collaboration and capacity building in the area of innovation and scholarship in health professions education across the full range of health professions.

We are very excited to formalize these initiatives, and to see where their leadership will take us!

Dr. Alison Greig (CHES member and Associate Head, MPT Program, UBC Faculty of Medicine) is looking to hire a part-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow (0.2 FTE) and Graduate Research Assistant/Graduate Academic Assistant (0.4 FTE) to work on her TLEF funded project, specifically with regards to evaluation. Project title: West Coast Interprofessional Clinical Knowledge Evidence Disseminator (WICKED).

A huge congratulations to Drs. Glenn Regehr (Associate Director Research, CHES) and Sandra Jarvis-Selinger (CHES Scholar, Assistant Dean for UBC Faculty Development and Director of Curriculum in the MD Undergraduate Program) on their respective awards granted during the Canadian Conference on Medical Education (CCME) in Vancouver earlier this week. During a Early Career Medical Educators Group session, Dr. Regehr was awarded the Mentor Award for excellence in mentoring the next generation of medical educators. Dr. Jarvis-Selinger was presented the AFMC Award for Outstanding Contribution to Faculty Development in Canada in recognition for her leadership in in the development and delivery of faculty development programs and innovations. She is considered an outstanding mentor and has brought a structured, evidence based approach to curriculum design and program implementation.
