The Faculty of Medicine at The University of British Columbia invites applications for the position of Director, Centre for Health Education Scholarship (CHES). This is a 0.4 FTE position for a five (5) year term with the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory review. The position is expected to be filled by a candidate internal to the Faculty. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2015 or upon a date to be mutually agreed.

Congratulations to former CHES fellow Dr. Lawrence Lo for successfully defending his master’s thesis, “Medical Trainees’ understanding of directed questioning by their clinical supervisors”. The presentation marked his completion of the Master of Health Professions Education Canada program, with a degree from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. Dr. Lo is a clinical instructor in the UBC Department of Medicine and Program Director for the Geriatrics Medicine Training Program.

CHES is delighted to announce former CHES fellow Dr. Paris-Ann Ingledew successfully defended her master’s thesis, “Navigating the Internet to improve physician and patient collaboration”, earning her Master of Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is currently a clinical assistant professor in the UBC Department of Surgery and a radiation oncologist at the BCAA-Fraser Valley Cancer Centre.
