Description

The flipped classroom has gained excitement and attention in the last few years.  Some of this excitement is based on an evidence base and much is not.  In this session, we will be explore:

  • key elements of a flipped classroom,
  • how to convert a standard classroom into a flipped classroom,
  • the evidence for a flipped classroom,
  • the elements (affordances) of the flipped classroom that support its effectiveness
  • some of the ways to make a standard lecture more effective

The University of British Columbia Division of Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME) to provide study credits for continuing medical education for physicians.
